About

Tai Loi is an Austro-asiatic Palaungic language spoken in Myanmar, Laos, and China. Most Tai Loi speakers use the Tai-Kadai language, Tai Lue, as a second language for communication, and most also speak Chinese or Burmese. School is not taught in Tai Loi, and children more commonly communicate in more widely spoken languages than in the Tai Loi language. Although Tai Loi is still frequently used amongst families and friends, it is more commonly spoken by the older generation and is beginning to be replaced by larger languages.
